How does Hospice support the caregivers and family? Hospice of The Gorge has resource libraries in both offices. A healing Memory Garden was constructed in 2006 adjacent to the Hospice Center in Hood River. These resources are open to the public during business hours. Hospice provides support with its volunteers, who are available to visit patients and provide respite for caregivers. Hospice hosts bereavement groups, led by Hospice chaplains, to give people a chance to meet with others who are also in pain, to share their memories and to try to make sense of what has happened. Bereavement groups are free-of-charge and available to the public whether or not a relative has been a Hospice patient.  |
