Light Up a Life
Receive a book of inspirational poems inspired by the loss of a loved one.
PLEASE HELP!
Hospice organizations across the country host Light Up a Life fundraisers each fall, usually centered around holiday decorations and lights on a tree. This year, our fundraiser honors those you love by:
—Providing you with a a beautiful book of poems inspired by the loss of a loved one, for donations of $25 or more,
— Listing the names of people you want to remember in an on-line memorial.
This is a wonderful opportunity to remember people you love, and at the same time, to help others who may be in need of hospice care.
Letter from Our Board President
Thanks to all who have helped!
Hospice
of The Gorge has never, in all the years of our existence
(over 30 years!) denied care to a patient due to a lack
of funds. Now, that track record of extraordinary achievment
is being threatened by the drastic cuts from Medicare,
rising costs of care, and more patients who are in need
of charity care.
In the current economic times, it is hard to ask for a donation, but that is what we must do… because the cause of hospice is worth it!
On behalf of all of us at Hospice of The Gorge, and on behalf of all the future patients and families who will depend on us for their end of-life care, we sincerely thank you for your support in Light-Up-a-Llife campaigns over the years. We hope we can continue to count on your support in the future.
Warmest Regards,

How Your Money Is Spent
Donations like yours pay for hospice care for patients that either have no health insurance or have run out of their hospice benefit.
Your donation might provide the following for a patient and their family:
- Medical Director and Registered Nurse visits
- Social Worker assistance
- Chaplain services for the patient and grief support for family and friends
- Hospice Aide visits including personal care
In addition to directly paying for patient care, your donation helps sustain many of our unique and vital community programs like Hispanic Outreach for hospice care, grief support groups for children and palliative (comfort) care for those who are terminally ill but not quite ready for hospice.
Your Contribution in Action!
Throughout this website you'll find information about how we help others. You'll get a glimpse of our mission, vision and goals in action. Please help us continue our mission of care, by making a donation today.
Any amount helps, but with a donation of $25 or more, you will receive a beautiful book of inspirational poems inspired by the loss of a loved one.

This unique book of poetry was written in Oregon with a focus on hospice experiences.
