Gorge Winegrowers Celebration for Hospice

THANKS!

The 2010 Gorge Wine Growers' Celebration for Hospice of the Gorge was a GREAT success! The event sold out, and everyone who attended had a terrific time.

Special Thanks

We so appreciate the wonderful contributions of the wine growers, the generosity of those who donated auction items, the many people who volunteered to help, and of course, those of you who attended. Thank you!

The Culmination of Gorge Wine Week

The 2010 Gorge Winegrower's Celebration for Hospice will be held in April, and is the culminating event for "Gorge Wine Week," where participants can enjoy a world of wines in 40 miles. Events that are part of Gorge Wine Week include:

  • April 5: Portland Grand Tasting Event, where Portlandians get a chance to taste Columbia Gorge wines and preview the Passport Weekend
  • April 9 - 11: Passport Weekend, where participants can get exclusive offers from dozens of wineries throughout the Columbia River Gorge
  • April 10: Gorge Winegrower's Celebration for Hospice, where participants can enjoy a fabulous night of wine tasting, food, auctions and entertainment in one of the most beautiful locations in the Gorge

How Hospice Benefits

Proceeds from the Gorge Winegrower's Celebration are donated to Hospice of The Gorge, a non-profit hospice serving eight counties in Oregon and Washington. Funds go directly toward the cost of care for patients without insurance or other means to pay for needed hospice services. Examples of costs covered include include costs associated with physicians, nurses, hospice aides, medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and respite care for family members.

In past years, proceeds have also been used to support a children’s grief support group that has been overwhelmingly successful in serving children, ages 6-12 throughout the Columbia River Gorge service area.
